June Mar Fajardo leads PBA Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference race

San Miguel's June Mar Fajardo is the leading candidate for the PBA Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference award, having topped the Statistical Points category.

He tallied 45.4 Statistical Points in 12 games, averaging 17.4 points, 15.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks.

Fajardo's closest pursuers, Calvin Abueva (41.2 SPs), Juan Gomez de Liano (37.2 SPs), Justine Baltazar (37.2 SPs), and Zavier Lucero (33.8 SPs), have been eliminated from the playoffs.

This is significant as no player has won the BPC award after failing to make the semifinals.

Fajardo, a nine-time MVP, has already won the BPC plum 12 times, a league record.
