JPGT Elite Junior Finals to feature Ryder Cup-style format

The Junior Philippine Golf Tour (JPGT) is concluding its season with the ICTSI Elite Junior Finals at The Country Club in Laguna, starting Wednesday, October 1.

This championship features the best young golfers from Luzon facing off against those from Visayas and Mindanao in a unique Ryder Cup-style team format.

The tournament will span three days with different competitive formats: Four-Ball (Best Ball) on Day 1, Foursomes (Alternate Shot) on Day 2, and singles matches on Day 3.

This is the first time the JPGT Finals will employ a team-based format, emphasizing chemistry, strategy, and resilience alongside individual talent.

The elite 48 players, culled from two seven-leg elimination series, will represent North and South squads.

The Country Club course is known for its deceptive length, hazards, and glass-like greens, testing not only skill but nerve, strategy, and composure.

In the event of a tie, one age group will be drawn at random and each captain must nominate a player for a sudden-death playoff.
