Policarpio named MVP of PBA Draft Combine

Jonnel Policarpio, a former La Salle forward, was named MVP of the PBA Draft Combine held at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Policarpio led his Team B1 to a 61-44 victory in the mini-tournament finals, scoring 21 points in the final game.

He was also selected to the Mythical Five along with Brandon Ramirez, Justine Baltazar, Jordan Bartlett, and Kurt Reyson.

Policarpio stated that winning the MVP award was a blessing and a total team effort, earning him a P10,000 cash bonus, while the Mythical Five selection came with a P5,000 bonus.

The 22-year-old expressed his readiness to transition from a power forward to playing wing positions such as small forward or shooting guard in the PBA.

He believes his performance in the combine has given him 100% confidence for the upcoming draft.

The PBA Draft proper is scheduled for Sunday, July 14, at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City.
