Johnny Abarrientos joins Ginebra coaching staff under Tim Cone

PBA legend Johnny Abarrientos will join Barangay Ginebra's coaching staff under Tim Cone, a move that his nephew RJ Abarrientos sees as an "answered prayer."

The younger Abarrientos expressed excitement about his uncle joining the team, noting it will fast-track his development and cohesion with his teammates.

Johnny Abarrientos transitions to Ginebra after LA Tenorio was appointed as the new coach of Magnolia, ending his 19-year stint with the Magnolia franchise.

This marks a reunion for Johnny Abarrientos with coach Tim Cone, with whom he previously achieved success during the Alaska Aces' dominant era and Magnolia's 2014 Grand Slam.

RJ hopes that he and his uncle can form a strong tandem to help Ginebra win multiple championships.
