John Derick Farr bags bronze in 33rd SEA Games mountain bike downhill

John Derick Farr secured the Philippines' first medal in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games 2025 by winning bronze in the men's mountain bike downhill event held at Khao Kheow Open Zoo.

Farr clocked in at 2:43.676, finishing behind Thailand's Boonsae Methasit (gold, 2:37.856) and Indonesia's Sanjaya Rendy Varera (silver, 2:38.714).

The Las Piñas City native initially held the lead before being overtaken by the eventual gold medalist.

This is Farr's second consecutive bronze medal in the SEA Games, having also won bronze three years ago in Hanoi, and previously won gold in 2019.

Downhill mountain biking was not part of the previous SEA Games held in Cambodia.

Farr's bronze medal was followed shortly by Justin Kobe Macario securing the Philippines' first gold medal in the men's individual poomsae competition.
