John Arcilla backs cousin's criticism of 'Quezon' biopic

Actor John Arcilla supports his cousin, Ricky Quezon-Avancena, in criticizing the biopic "Quezon."

Quezon-Avancena, grandson of former president Manuel L. Quezon, called the film a "joke" and accused filmmakers of prioritizing profit over historical accuracy.

Arcilla, who portrays Quezon in the film and is also a descendant, agreed that the family should have been consulted by the production.

He stated that the filmmakers should have considered consulting the direct descendants and relatives, as the family is still alive.

Arcilla further noted that the family is entitled to express concern or seek clarification regarding the film.
