David drops 25 as Ginebra crushes NorthPort

Jayson David exploded for 25 points, leading Barangay Ginebra to a dominant 131-106 victory over NorthPort in the PBA Philippine Cup.

David, who was activated just two days prior in place of LA Tenorio, shot an impressive 8-of-9 from the field and added nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

The Gin Kings established a commanding lead early, outscoring NorthPort 40-24 in the first quarter and extending their advantage to as much as 34 points in the fourth.

Coach Tim Cone, while acknowledging David's performance, downplayed its significance, stating that he performs similarly in daily practices.

Tenorio was placed on the unrestricted free agent list to focus on his role as head coach of the Gilas Pilipinas Youth team.

David, the 20th overall pick in the 2022 PBA Draft, emphasized his readiness to contribute whenever the team requires his assistance.
