Jayjay Helterbrand, Dondon Maierhofer express gratitude for PBA's 50th season

Jayjay Helterbrand, a six-time PBA champion who played his entire 17-year career with Barangay Ginebra, expressed gratitude for the league and his team ahead of the PBA's 50th season.

Helterbrand, the 2009 PBA MVP, acknowledged the PBA as a crucial platform that shaped his life and allowed him to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional basketball player.

He was recognized as one of the PBA's 50 Greatest Players and was known for his dynamic 'run-and-gun' style, forming the iconic 'Fast and the Furious' backcourt partnership with Mark Caguioa.

Meanwhile, fellow former PBA player Dondon Maierhofer, who won two titles and was the 2009 Rookie of the Year, also expressed his honor in being part of the league's 50 years.

Maierhofer, who played for nine years, credited the PBA for being a significant factor in his life and shared that his career was hampered by injuries, teaching him the importance of hard work and self-protection.

Both Helterbrand and Maierhofer are involved in the PBA MotoClub, a group of former league stars.
