Jay Ortega joins GMA's Viu Original series 'Slay'

Sparkle actor Jay Ortega has been cast in GMA Network's first Viu Original series, titled 'Slay.'

He expressed excitement about the new role, noting the difference in his character and the opportunity to work with new co-actors.

Ortega's character is a simple guy who will get entangled with the main characters and might be involved in the death of Zach (Derrick Monasterio).

He will also have a love interest from the four female stars of the series.

The series follows the story of four women who are tagged as suspects in Zach's murder.

Jay Ortega is recognized for his breakout role as Japanese Imperial Army Captain Akio Watanabe in 'Pulang Araw,' which led him to sign a contract with Sparkle in December.

Prior to 'Slay,' Ortega also appeared in 'Magpakailanman' in January, portraying a viral gay guard.
