PH to receive Japan's AstraZeneca vaccine donations
Japan will donate AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine doses, manufactured in Japan, to the Philippines.
Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa assured that the vaccines will be delivered as soon as possible so no one gets left behind during this pandemic.
Japan decided to donate these vaccines after considering the infection situation, vaccine shortages, and its relationship with recipient countries.
The donation is separate from the COVAX Facility, and close coordination will be done with the Philippine government for swift delivery.
Other countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, are also set to receive similar aid.
