Jaclyn Jose honored in Oscars in memoriam segment

Filipino actress Jaclyn Jose was honored in the 97th Academy Awards’ In Memoriam segment, recognizing her contributions to cinema.

She was listed on the Oscars' website alongside other notable figures, including Gene Hackman, Donald Sutherland, David Lynch, Shelley Duvall, and James Earl Jones.

Her inclusion in the tribute came around her first death anniversary on March 2, 2024.

Her daughter, Andi Eigenmann, shared her elation on Instagram, expressing pride that her mother was remembered by The Academy.

Morgan Freeman delivered the "Oscars In Memoriam" segment during the ceremony, which paid homage to the personalities who passed away in 2024.

Jose, who died of a heart attack, began her acting career in the 1980s and won the Best Actress award at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival for her role in "Ma'Rosa".
