IU wins second Daesang at APAN Star Awards

Korean superstar IU won the prestigious Daesang (Grand Prize) at the 2025 APAN Star Awards, gracing the event in a stunning cream and red gown with rose petal accents by renowned Filipina designer Monique Lhuillier.

The Monaco gown from Lhuillier's Fall 2025 bridal collection featured a strapless neckline with scattered rose petal embroidery.

This marks IU's second Daesang win for her role in the 2025 slice-of-life drama "When Life Gives You Tangerines," which tells the life story of a woman based in Jeju Island and her daughter.

The 2025 APAN Star Awards, held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, South Korea, honors the best of OTT content, including public broadcast network, cable, OTT, and web drama formats.

The popular Netflix series "When Life Gives You Tangerines" also received multiple accolades, including Drama of the Year, Best Director for Kim Won-seok, and Best Child Actor awards for young stars Kim Tae-yeon and Lee Cheon-mu.

Additional awards for "When Life Gives You Tangerines" included Lee Jun-young winning the Excellence Award - Actor in a Miniseries and Kang You-seok receiving the Best New Actor award.

Other notable winners at the ceremony included "For Eagle Brothers" co-stars Ahn Jae-wook and Uhm Ji-won for Top Acting Awards in Serial Drama, and "Friendly Rivalry" stars Hyeri and Jung Soo-bin for Best Couple.
