It's Showtime cancels Magpasikat segment due to high production costs

It's Showtime will be foregoing its annual 'Magpasikat' segment for its 16th anniversary celebration this year.

Host Vice Ganda explained that the decision was made to celebrate the anniversary differently.

Vice Ganda revealed that each 'Magpasikat' production number typically costs a minimum of ₱6 million to produce, sometimes reaching up to ₱10 million.

He stated that the show's high production standards for 'Magpasikat' require significant financial investment to entertain and inspire the audience with unique performances.

Vice Ganda candidly admitted that the show can no longer afford such large-scale productions due to the financial challenges faced in sustaining the program over the years.

The comedian-host emphasized that the cost, even for a single week of celebration, becomes substantial when considering the daily production expenses.
