Isko Moreno reclaims Manila mayoralty in landslide win

Isko Moreno has reclaimed the Manila mayoralty after securing a landslide victory in the 2025 elections with 530,825 votes.

He defeated incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna, who received 190,315 votes, and independent candidate Sam Verzosa, who garnered 164,047 votes.

Moreno's running mate, Chi Atienza, also won the vice mayoral race.

This victory marks a political comeback for Moreno, who previously served as mayor from 2019 to 2022 and had an unsuccessful presidential bid in 2022.

The campaign was marked by a political split between Moreno and Lacuna, who had previously served as Moreno's vice mayor.

Lacuna pointed out the P17.8-billion debt she inherited after Moreno sought the presidency in 2022.

Both Lacuna and Verzosa have conceded defeat.

Following his proclamation, Moreno appealed for calm and healing, stating, "We can make Manila great again" and "Let's start healing this time."
