Isabela governor attends agri fair abroad amid typhoon

Isabela Governor Rodolfo Albano III is currently in Germany attending an agricultural fair despite Super Typhoon Uwan battering his province.

Governor Albano stated his trip was planned in advance and he received permission from Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

He explained that the purpose of his visit is to explore agricultural innovations and new technologies to benefit Isabela's farmers and improve disaster mitigation and mechanization.

Albano, who said he was already en route to Germany when he received the DILG order to suspend foreign travel, plans to finish the seminar.

He believes the agri-tech fair is very important for his province's modernization in agriculture and flood mitigation, and that he and other officials can do nothing regarding the province's recovery from the typhoon while abroad.
