ICI sets field validation of 421 ghost flood control projects
The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) is set to conduct field validation of 421 "ghost projects" identified by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Philippine National Police (PNP), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and the Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev).
ICI Executive Director Brian Keith Hosaka confirmed that a technical and coordination meeting was held with PNP engineers to discuss procedures and technologies for the validation process.
Expertise from Engineer Michael Reyes of the Council of Engineering Consultants of the Philippines was also sought for guidance.
The list of 421 ghost flood control projects came from the DPWH, which investigated a total of 8,000 projects with the PNP, AFP, and DEPDev.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) were previously engaged to assist with evidence handling and documentation during the field validation.
