HPG issues tickets to 6 cops for traffic violations

Six police officers were issued traffic violation tickets during a surprise inspection by the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame.

The violations included officers driving without valid driver's licenses, failing to present updated Certificates of Registration and Official Receipts, and the improper use of police insignias on private vehicles.

HPG spokesperson Lt. Nadame Malang stated that the inspection was ordered by PNP-HPG director Col. Hansel Marantan to ensure compliance with vehicle and traffic laws.

Malang clarified that the operation aimed to ensure that all police personnel follow motor vehicle regulations and that registrations are up-to-date.

Approximately 500 motorcycles and 300 other vehicles were inspected, with most violations related to missing OR/CR documents and expired registrations.

The inspections will continue to ensure strict compliance with motor vehicle laws among all PNP personnel.
