House quad-comm continues POGO, drug probes during recess

The House quad-committee will continue its hearings into Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), illegal drugs, money-laundering, and extrajudicial killings (EJKs) during the congressional recess.

Manila Rep. Bienvenido "Benny" Abante Jr. stated that the hearings will proceed despite the break to fully expose the involvement of syndicates and generals in the drug problem.

Abante emphasized the urgency of the investigation, noting that it needs to be concluded before the filing of certificates of candidacy, which signals the start of the campaign period.

The quad-comm has already conducted six hearings and plans to invite former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog again, along with potentially inviting a former Colonel Diaz and General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa.

The investigation aims to dismantle the syndicate and address the deep-rooted drug problem within the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The quad-comm has previously questioned the credibility of former President Rodrigo Duterte's narco-list, deeming it based on mere gossip.
