Hernandez withdraws state witness bid, gets special consideration

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed that former Bulacan assistant district engineer Brice Hernandez is no longer pursuing state witness status but will receive special consideration as a cooperative witness.

Remulla explained that Hernandez and others involved in the 'ghost project' case are likely to be convicted regardless of their cooperation, making blanket immunity as a state witness unnecessary.

Despite withdrawing his bid for state witness, Hernandez is still considered a cooperative witness and will be given special consideration with the court's permission.

Both Hernandez and former Bulacan engineer Henry Alcantara have already faced investigators from the Office of the Ombudsman.

Hernandez appeared before the Ombudsman on Thursday, while Alcantara faced investigators on Friday.
