GSIS offers emergency loans to Davao Oriental quake victims

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is offering emergency loans to its members and pensioners in Davao Oriental affected by recent earthquakes.

Qualified individuals can avail of loans up to P40,000 if they have an existing emergency loan, or P20,000 for those without.

These loans have a 6% annual interest rate and are payable within 36 months, with the first payment due after three months.

Applications can be submitted through the GSIS Touch mobile app, GWAPS kiosks, or in person, with loan proceeds directly credited to the member's GSIS ATM card.

GSIS president and general manager Jose Arnulfo "Wick" Veloso assured that the agency is ready to provide immediate financial assistance for recovery efforts, similar to support provided after the Cebu quake.

The province of Davao Oriental has been placed under a state of calamity following the earthquakes, which have caused three deaths.
