Gretchen Ho seeks clarification after relatives denied FX at Oslo Airport

Filipino TV host Gretchen Ho is seeking clarification after her senior citizen relatives were denied foreign exchange services at Oslo Airport.

The relatives were reportedly told they could not exchange US dollars for Norwegian krone because of corruption and money laundering in the Philippines.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) stated that the foreign exchange stall was using an outdated list from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.

The Philippines was removed from the FATF grey list in February 2025 and the European Union grey list in August 2025.

Norwegian Foreign Ministry officials have committed to updating the Philippines' status with the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway.

Ho raised concerns about the incident's potential impact on future travel experiences for Filipinos.
