Probe launched into P107.9M Film Heritage Building project

Great Pacific Builders and General Contractor Inc. is under investigation for alleged substandard work on the Philippine Film Heritage Building in Manila, a project with a contract price of P107.9 million.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro announced the probe following an onsite inspection, citing unfinished works and poor quality construction.

Castro refuted claims from the Discaya couple's camp that the unfinished works were not part of their contract, stating the contract was executed on January 2, 2025.

The Discaya camp claimed that Great Pacific Builders and Gen. Contractor, Inc. had already turned over the first phase of the project in December, and another company handled the second phase.

Castro described the Discayas' claim as "wrong information" and advised them to review their contracts with the Department of Public Works and Highways.

The investigation into this project signifies the administration's focus on issues in various infrastructure projects, with Malacañang now looking into other government projects linked to the firm.
