Granular lockdowns in Metro Manila postponed due to guideline questions

The implementation of granular lockdowns in Metro Manila has been postponed due to questions raised by mayors regarding the guidelines.

The shift to general community quarantine (GCQ) with alert levels in the National Capital Region (NCR) has also been deferred.

NTF Against COVID-19 spokesperson Restituto Padilla stated that the guidelines need to be expanded to address these concerns.

Padilla mentioned that many questions arose that were not initially included in the prepared guidelines.

Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro had previously called on national agencies to release the guidelines, noting the original September 8 start date for the granular lockdown pilot test.

The modified enhanced community quarantine in NCR will last until the middle of the month or earlier if the guidelines are issued and disseminated.
