Grab rider files abduction, robbery raps vs 7 MPD cops

A Grab delivery rider filed an administrative complaint against seven police officers for alleged abduction and robbery before the National Police Commission (Napolcom) in Quezon City.

The rider, Chester Dumaran, claims he and a companion were accosted by plainclothes individuals who forced them into a black Mitsubishi Xpander, handcuffed them, and later identified themselves as police officers.

Dumaran reported that his cellphone, necklace, and ₱9,000 from his GCash account were taken during the alleged abduction.

He stated that they were driven around Rizal province for hours and threatened with death.

Dumaran managed to escape around midnight when the group stopped to eat on Maceda Street corner Laong Laan.

The Manila Police District (MPD) ordered the immediate relief of the seven policemen, who are all personnel of the MPD District Drug Enforcement Unit, and directed them to report to the District Personnel Holding and Accounting Section.

The complaint included a police major, two master sergeants, two staff sergeants, one corporal, and one patrolman, accusing them of grave misconduct, grave irregularities in the performance of duty, and conduct unbecoming of a police officer.
