Grab rider files abduction raps vs 7 MPD cops

A Grab delivery rider filed an administrative complaint before the National Police Commission (Napolcom) in Quezon City against seven police officers for alleged abduction.

The rider, Chester Dumaran, 27, stated he and a companion, a Foodpanda rider, were handcuffed and forced into a black Mitsubishi Xpander by men in plain clothes.

The officers, identified as personnel of the MPD District Drug Enforcement Unit, later introduced themselves as police.

Dumaran alleges the officers took his cellphone, necklace, and ₱9,000 from his GCash account.

They were allegedly driven around Rizal province for hours and threatened with death.

The incident prompted Manila Police District acting district director Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad to order the immediate relief of the seven policemen.

The complaint includes accusations of grave misconduct, grave irregularities in the performance of duty, and conduct unbecoming of a police officer.
