Grab launches car service for vaccinees

Grab Philippines has launched GrabCar Bayanihan, a service utilizing vaccinated drivers to provide transport to and from vaccination centers.

The service, which began piloting on June 28 with over a thousand vaccinated drivers, is available in several Metro Manila cities including Manila, Las Piñas, Taguig, Pasig, Makati, Quezon City, Pateros, and Marikina.

GrabCar Bayanihan offers two booking options: 'GrabCar Bayanihan From' for rides from vaccination centers and 'GrabCar Bayanihan To' for rides to vaccination centers.

The GrabCar Bayanihan service is noted to be cheaper than the regular GrabCar 2-seater service.

To book a ride, passengers need to type the vaccination center they are registered to, which usually starts with the word 'Vaccine,' and then select the GrabCar Bayanihan option.

Grab Philippines Country Head Grace Vera Cruz stated that the service aims to support local government partners in their COVID vaccination efforts and ensure the safety and health of Filipinos.

Grab aims to leverage its platform and technology to facilitate vaccination for Filipinos during the recovery period and plans to add more locations for the service.
