Unified 911 national emergency hotline to launch Sept 11

Beginning September 11, 2025, the Philippines will launch Unified 911, a single national emergency hotline that consolidates over 30 local numbers into one integrated system.

This initiative, part of the Bagong Pilipinas agenda, aims to streamline police, fire, medical, and disaster response, fulfilling President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to strengthen family and community safety.

Unified 911 connects the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and local governments, ensuring all emergency calls are routed through a single network.

DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla stated that Unified 911 is a lifeline where every second, call, and life matters, fulfilling the government's promise that help will always be within reach.

The service will be free, operate 24/7 nationwide, and is designed to handle calls in major Philippine languages.

The target response time for emergencies is five minutes, with operators trained to reassure callers that help is on the way.
