Gov't eyes 170M vaccine doses for 50-70M Filipinos

The Philippine government is on track to secure 170 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to inoculate between 50 to 70 million Filipinos this year.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque affirmed that the target of acquiring 170 million vaccine doses will be met, citing vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr.

The country's vaccine supply includes 44 million doses from the WHO's COVAX Facility, with confirmed deliveries of AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines in the first half of the year.

Despite initial delays, the first batch of 117,000 Pfizer vaccine doses is expected to arrive this month.

Additional vaccine supplies are anticipated from Sinovac (25 million doses starting this month), Gamaleya National Center (10 to 15 million doses starting April), and Novavax (30 million doses starting May).
