Gordon warns revolutionary government is a dictatorship

Senator Richard Gordon asserted that the revolutionary government being advocated by President Duterte's supporters is essentially a dictatorship, plain and simple.

Gordon warned that such a system would enable the government to detain or remove individuals by decree, leading to suffering for the populace.

He expressed concern that a revolutionary government would damage the country's international standing and economic stability, drawing parallels to the Marcos era.

President Duterte initially suggested that a revolutionary government should be a subject of public discussion, despite previously rejecting the idea.

Other senators also reiterated their opposition to reviving discussions on the proposal, believing it would only divide the nation.

The group Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Committee claims a revolutionary government would facilitate a transition to federalism.
