Gordon seeks IFRC aid for typhoon victims' homes

Senator Richard Gordon, chairperson of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), is appealing to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for assistance in constructing better homes in areas devastated by Super Typhoon Rolly.

PRC teams will conduct damage assessments in typhoon-hit regions to determine the extent of destruction.

Following the assessment, the PRC will submit a report to the IFRC headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Gordon expressed hope that the IFRC can help rebuild homes, citing the successful construction of approximately 90,000 houses in areas affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 through the joint efforts of the PRC and IFRC.
