GMA Kapuso Foundation inaugurates 10th bridge in Rizal

The GMA Kapuso Foundation has inaugurated a new 15-meter-long cable-suspended concrete and steel hanging bridge in Barangay Puray, Rodriguez, Rizal.

This is the 10th bridge constructed nationwide under the foundation's Kapuso Tulay Para sa Kaunlaran project.

The bridge connects Sitio Bagong Sigla and Sitio Mabolo, replacing a dangerous river crossing that posed risks to students and villagers, especially during rainy seasons.

The construction, which began in August, was a response to community difficulties, including those after Typhoon Carina in 2024.

Built in partnership with the 80th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army and with donations from the AFP, the bridge can support motorcycles and withstand up to four tons.

Safety features include screens on the side rails for children, and it aims to benefit residents like Rufino San Jose Sr. who transport produce across the river.
