Globe Telecom maintains mobile lead with aggressive network expansion

Globe Telecom Inc. is maintaining its lead in the mobile sector through aggressive network expansion and product innovation, even as it explores opportunities in broadband.

The company achieved a record P25.2 billion in mobile data revenues during the third quarter, driven by increased 5G adoption.

Globe's subscriber base grew by five percent to 63.1 million, solidifying its position as the largest player in the industry.

Data now accounts for 86 percent of Globe's mobile revenues, reflecting Filipinos' increased reliance on digital services.

To meet growing demand, Globe has significantly invested in its network, completing 1,375 new cellular builds and 8,699 site upgrades as of September.

Furthermore, the telco has established 877 new 5G sites in both emerging regions and busy urban centers.

Globe's 5G network now covers 98.71 percent of Metro Manila and 98.31 percent of major provincial cities, positioning it well for future growth.

Globe President and CEO Carl Raymond Cruz emphasized that the mobile segment will continue to be the core of the company's business.
