Gilas Pilipinas names lineup for Indonesia qualifiers

Gilas Pilipinas will field a mix of seasoned PBA players and promising amateurs for their upcoming FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers match against Indonesia in Jakarta.

The 12-man lineup features six other pros and five amateurs, aiming to secure a victory on Indonesian soil.

Skipper Kiefer Ravena leads a cast of PBA mainstays CJ Perez, Roger Pogoy, Troy Rosario, Poy Erram, Abu Tratter, and Justin Chua.

Isaac Go and Matt Nieto lead the bunch of youngsters that will also feature Thirdy Ravena, Juan Gomez de Liaño, and Dwight Ramos.

Interim coach Mark Dickel stated it was not an easy team to pick, but the team's performance in the last two days made the decision easier.

Gilas will depart for Jakarta on February 21 at 9 p.m.

The team is still considering a practice session "somewhere near the airport" upon arrival.

Coach Dickel mentioned that Gilas has "no knowledge of who they are going to pick" from the opposing squad but has "a lot of knowledge how they're going to play."
