Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 men's team defeats Malaysia to reach SEA Games semis

Joseph Sedurifa sank the game-winning deuce, securing a 21-19 victory for the Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 men's team against Malaysia in the Southeast Asian Games.

This crucial win propelled the Philippine squad to the semifinals of the 3x3 basketball competition.

The team remains undefeated in Pool B with a 2-0 record after also defeating Vietnam earlier in the day.

Ange Kouame led the scoring for Gilas with eight points, supported by five points each from Joseph Eriobu and Janrey Pasaol.

Sedurifa finished with three points, his game-winning basket coming with 1:19 left in the game.

The team will face Laos next for a chance to top their group.

Coach Patrick Fran emphasized the need for improved defense, particularly against two-point shots, to succeed in the tournament.

Gilas Pilipinas is hoping to redeem itself following a silver medal finish two years ago in Cambodia.
