Gatchalian questions P124M PCO training center project

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian questioned the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) regarding a P45.7 million training center project in Bukidnon, initiated in 2019.

A Commission on Audit (COA) report also flagged a similar project costing P79 million in subsequent years.

Gatchalian noted that the project's total expenditure reached P124 million, and expressed concern it could become a "white elephant" if not completed.

PCO Secretary Dave Gomez agreed with Gatchalian, stating that the previous administration should not have engaged in public works projects like this, which fall outside the PCO's core responsibility.

Gomez specifically mentioned that the PCO shouldn't have engaged in projects with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
