Fuel prices to increase for 5th consecutive week for gasoline

Motorists will face another fuel price increase starting Tuesday, September 16, marking the fifth consecutive week for gasoline and the fourth for diesel and kerosene.

Shell Pilipinas, Cleanfuel, and Seaoil will implement price hikes of P0.10 per liter for gasoline, P0.50 per liter for diesel, and P0.10 per liter for kerosene.

Cleanfuel will implement its price adjustments later in the afternoon on Tuesday.

The Department of Energy attributes these increases partly to geopolitical tensions, including an Israeli attack in Qatar and a Russian drone incursion into Poland.

Despite the current hikes, global oil prices have eased due to reports of OPEC+ planning to increase production, potentially leading to oversupply next year.

Last week's price adjustments saw increases of P1.00 per liter for gasoline, P1.40 per liter for diesel, and P0.70 per liter for kerosene.

As of September 9, year-to-date price adjustments show a net increase of P13.80 per liter for gasoline and P14.85 per liter for diesel.
