Gadon files disbarment raps vs VP Duterte before SC

Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon has filed a disbarment complaint before the Supreme Court (SC) against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Gadon cited Duterte's recent statements against President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez, which he described as a "plan for murdering three individuals."

Duterte, however, clarified her remarks were not a threat but a highlight of an alleged threat to her security, stating her statement was taken out of context.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has stated it will not file a specific case and will instead leave the disbarment cases against VP Duterte to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) to investigate.

Gadon noted Duterte's actions were witnessed by millions and have become public knowledge, arguing that as a lawyer, she should be disbarred.

Duterte has brushed off the disbarment complaints, stating, "In Bisaya, 'puwera bahala' (whatever happens, happens). Whoever they side with will win."
