Filipino consumers will face significant fuel price increases starting Tuesday, April 22, after a brief rollback during Holy Week.
Gasoline prices are set to rise by ₱1.35 per liter, diesel by ₱1.30 per liter, and kerosene by ₱1.10 per liter.
Several major fuel companies, including Shell Pilipinas, Seaoil, PetroGazz, CleanFuel, Jetti Petroleum, Caltex, and PTT Philippines, announced these adjustments.
The Department of Energy (DOE) noted that prior to these hikes, Metro Manila gasoline prices averaged between ₱56.90 to ₱71.44 per liter, diesel from ₱54.30 to ₱56.10, and kerosene at ₱71.37.
According to the DOE's Oil Industry Management Bureau (OIMB) director, Rodela Romero, the price adjustments are driven by a tighter global supply.
This tighter supply is attributed to fresh sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran and compensatory output cuts by OPEC+ nations.
