Oil companies to rollback prices starting Tuesday

Major oil companies such as Shell Pilipinas, Cleanfuel, Seaoil, and Caltex will implement price rollbacks on gasoline by P3.60 per liter and diesel by P2.90 per liter starting Tuesday, April 15.

Kerosene prices will also be reduced by P3.30 per liter by Caltex, Seaoil, and Shell.

The Department of Energy (DOE) attributes the price rollback to global factors, including the trade war between the United States and China.

This trade tension led to a significant drop in global oil price benchmarks, with West Texas Intermediate and Brent crude plunging last week.

The US Energy Information Agency also lowered its demand outlook for oil due to tariff uncertainties, following US President Donald Trump's announcement of worldwide tariffs.

Despite the rollback, year-to-date, gasoline prices have a net increase of P4.55 per liter, diesel P4.45, and kerosene P0.40.
