Fuel prices increase again, gasoline up P1 per liter

Motorists will face another fuel price increase starting Tuesday, September 9, with gasoline up by P1 per liter, diesel by P1.40 per liter, and kerosene by 70 centavos per liter.

This marks the fourth consecutive weekly price hike for gasoline and the third for diesel and kerosene.

Shell Philippines, Seaoil, and CleanFuel announced these upward price adjustments.

The Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) attributed the price surge to US sanctions on Iran's oil revenue, falling Russian supplies amid heightened conflict with Ukraine, and a halt in exports to India's refinery.

With this week's hike, gasoline and diesel have reached record year-to-date net increases of P13.80 and P14.85 per liter, respectively, while kerosene has risen by a net P3.45 per liter so far this year.
