Palace appoints ex-Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez as new NCSC chair
President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has appointed former Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez as the new chairperson of the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC).
Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro confirmed the appointment.
Gutierrez previously served as Ombudsman under former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo but resigned during the term of former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III after being impeached on charges related to corruption cases.
She was also a member of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) board of trustees.
