Ex-Napolcom exec Leonardo submits counter-affidavit in murder complaint
Former National Police Commission commissioner Edilberto Leonardo has submitted his counter-affidavit to the Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding the murder and frustrated murder complaints in connection with the killing of former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board secretary Wesley Barayuga.
Leonardo's lawyer, Andres Manuel, confirmed the submission of the counter-affidavit during the preliminary investigation at the DOJ.
Leonardo is one of the respondents named in the complaints, which also include former PCSO general manager Royina Garma.
Both Leonardo and Garma have previously denied any involvement in Barayuga's killing during a congressional investigation into alleged extrajudicial killings under the Duterte administration.
