Foreigner confronts cop over ECQ protocols

A foreigner, Javier Parra, confronted a policeman, Police Senior Master Sergeant Roland Von Madrona, in Makati's Dasmariñas village over enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) protocols.

The incident began when Madrona and a barangay tanod approached Parra's maid for not wearing a face mask while watering plants, which is a violation of ECQ rules.

Parra and his wife emerged and confronted the law enforcers, with Parra allegedly lecturing Madrona and hurling insults.

Parra claimed an officer trespassed and threatened to arrest him, throwing him to the ground to handcuff him.

The police, however, stated that Parra became angry when the incident was being filmed and that Madrona attempted to arrest him after he allegedly hurled foul words.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is investigating the incident to determine if there are any immigration violations involved.
