Flooding hits Metro Manila roads; MMDA issues warning

Continuous rains on Monday afternoon caused several roads in Metro Manila to be submerged in floodwaters, prompting a warning from the MMDA.

As of 1:45 PM, the MMDA reported flooding incidents across various cities.

In Mandaluyong City, the Edsa Shaw tunnel northbound was gutter-deep but passable.

Several roads in Pasig City, including Edsa Ortigas BMW southbound and C5 Julia Vargas southbound, were also reported as gutter-deep and passable.

Quezon City experienced the most severe flooding, with Araneta Maria Clara becoming waist-deep and impassable to all vehicles.

Other areas in Quezon City, such as G. Araneta P. Florentino northbound and Mother Ignacia, were knee-deep and not passable to light vehicles.

Additionally, Quezon Avenue in front of Capitol was knee-deep and impassable to light vehicles, while EDSA Quezon Avenue before the intersection northbound was tire-deep and not passable to light vehicles.
