PH to celebrate World Volleyball Day in build-up to World Championships
FIVB President Fabio Azevedo visited the Philippines to assess preparations for the upcoming Men's Volleyball World Championships.
He met with PNVF President Ramon "Tats" Suzara, PNVF chairman emeritus Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, Senator Pia Cayetano, and Philippine Sports Commission chairman Patrick "Pató" Gregorio.
Azevedo also inspected the Nuvali Sand Courts in Santa Rosa City, a facility being considered as a Center for Excellence for Beach Volleyball.
The Philippines is set to celebrate World Volleyball Day and host the Fifth Southeast Asia Volleyball League as part of the build-up activities.
With 73 days remaining until the tournament, PNVF President Suzara acknowledged that significant work still needs to be accomplished.
Suzara assured Azevedo that government support and private sector involvement are crucial and in place for the event.
