FEU dominates UAAP Rapid Chess, clinches top seeds

Far Eastern University (FEU) secured the top playoff seeds in three divisions of the UAAP Season 87 Rapid Chess Championship.

The FEU Baby Tamaraws dominated the boys' division, with Oscar Cantela and Franklin Andes scoring four points each.

In the girls' division, Lyn Getubig remained undefeated in four matches, propelling FEU-Diliman to the top spot.

FIDE Master Mark Bacojo led the men's division, amassing 4.5 points in five rounds as the Tamaraws swept the elimination round with five consecutive wins.

De La Salle University will face defending standard event champion University of Santo Tomas in the semifinals.

The University of the Philippines also gained a semifinal berth and will meet the top-seeded Tamaraws.

Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University will compete in the women's division semifinals.

FEU will battle UST for the championship in both the boys' and girls' divisions on March 29.
