FEU bags bronze medal anew in SSL Collegiate Championship

Far Eastern University (FEU) secured the bronze medal in the 2024 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-season Championship by defeating the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in a five-set match with a score of 20-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 15-12.

FEU rallied from a two-sets-to-one deficit to force and win a fifth set, showcasing strong net defense throughout the match.

Jaz Ellarina was instrumental in the final set, scoring three of FEU's five kill blocks, contributing to the team's total of 17 kill blocks.

Ellarina finished with 13 points, including 10 attacks, while Gerzel Petallo and Faida Bakanke also provided solid support with 11 and 10 markers respectively.

The Lady Tamaraws' victory marked their second consecutive bronze medal finish in the pre-season championship and avenged their loss to UST in the V-League finals.

FEU assistant coach Manolo Refugia expressed pride in the team's podium finish, noting it was their last pre-season tournament.
