Fajardo's buzzer-beater hands Rain or Shine first loss

June Mar Fajardo sank a buzzer-beating jump shot to give San Miguel Beer a dramatic 113-112 victory over Rain or Shine, handing the Elasto Painters their first loss in the PBA Governors' Cup.

With six seconds remaining, Rain or Shine rookie Felix Lemetti made four free throws to give his team a one-point lead after being fouled by Chris Ross.

Fajardo, an eight-time PBA MVP, made the game-winning shot from the elbow as time expired after receiving a long pass from CJ Perez.

Fajardo led San Miguel Beer with 27 points and 21 rebounds, a performance that also saw him surpass Philip Cezar for seventh on the all-time rebound list.

Import Jordan Adams contributed 41 points for San Miguel Beer, while Lemetti led Rain or Shine with 28 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter.

San Miguel Beer improved to 3-2 in Group B, while Rain or Shine, despite the loss, remains the group leader with a 4-0 record.
