Laure, who was among the spectators, admitted that the incident brought back memories of her own injury during the UAAP Season 81 Finals in 2019.

Laure was with former teammates Sisi Rondina and EJ Laure when Poyos got injured.
Despite the emotional setback, Laure played a significant role in her current team, Chery Tiggo, forcing a decider in their bronze medal match in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
