Eumir Marcial wins WBC title via majority decision over Colmenares

Eumir Marcial secured the World Boxing Council international middleweight title via a majority decision win against Eddy Colmenares, despite being knocked down twice.

Colmenares believes he was robbed and stated that he "actually won" the championship fight.

Marcial admitted he feared losing the decision due to the knockdowns, particularly in the third round, but drew strength from the support of the Filipino crowd and his corner.

The judges' scores were 94-94 from one judge and 95-93 in favor of Marcial from the other two.

This victory extends Marcial's undefeated professional record to 7-0, while Colmenares's record now stands at 11-3-1.
